Benefits of DIDSON Sonar Technology
- Easy to use
- Measurement tool allows measurement of size or distance between objects in the DIDSON image
- Recorded movies and images can be easily converted for reports and presentations
- Optional sensor for sonar heading, roll, and pitch
- Saves money and time because work needing “visual feedback” can continue in turbid water environments where optical systems are ineffective
- Uses acoustic lens technology to provide near-video quality images and movies
- Clarity allows inspection of underwater structures and equipment, berthing areas, and bridge footings
- Sonar is small enough to mount on ROVs and provides feedback for driving the ROV, operating its manipulators, and making detailed inspections
Testimonial
Once on [the sea bottom] I began to sweep the sonar in the direction of the block and noted the image at about ten meters from the anchor line. The image came through sharp and clear in spite of the raging current that prevented me from leaving the line. […] Holding a sonar in your hands that provides these kinds of images creates an element of safety for the diver and places topside personnel in scientific as well as commercial applications on scene.
